Henry County Parks and Recreation and Commissioner Johnny Wilson are excited about the opening of the new Locust Grove playground. The all-inclusive playground is located next to the Locust Grove Recreation Center on highway 42.
The new playground is completely accessible and exceeds ADA standards, offering recreational enjoyment for the whole family!
The project was funded through park impact fees, paid by developers when new homes are constructed in unincorporated Henry County. The playground was purchased from and installed by Miracle Recreation of Monett, MO via a national purchasing contract for $139,861.62.
In addition to the existing features, benches have been ordered and are expected to arrive in October to provide seating around the playground.
Commissioner Johnny Wilson was first elected in 2016 and represents southeast Henry County on the Board of Commissioners. He is unopposed in his campaign for a second term in 2020.
